HCPO seeking public’s help to locate man wanted for Union City homicide

The Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office Homicide Unit is seeking the public’s help to locate a North Bergen man wanted for a Union City homicide that occurred last week.

Luis Marin, 57, of North Bergen, has been charged with murder, unlawful possession of a weapon, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, and certain persons not to possess a weapon, Hudson County Prosecutor Wayne Mello said in a statement.

Authorities also said that the defendant should not be approached and anyone with information regarding Marin’s whereabouts is urged to contact the HCPO at 201-915-1345 or to leave an anonymous tip at hcpo.org/tips. All information will be kept confidential.

Just after 1:50 a.m. on Monday, March 23rd, the Union City Police Department was notified of an altercation/shots fired in the area of Bergenline Avenue and 44th Street.

Responding officers located a male victim – later identified as David Pulgarin, 42, of North Bergen – with an apparent gunshot wound(s).

He was transported to the Jersey City Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead shortly after 2:30 a.m.
