Various dignitaries gave heartfelt stories about their relationships with McDonough, including Assembly Speaker Vincent Prieto (D-32).

However, no elected official showed more emotion than current Harrison Mayor James Fife, who began tearing up during his speech.

North Bergen Mayor/State Senator Nick Sacco (D-32) praised McDonough for his unparalleled commitment to serving the people, later presenting a plaque to his brother, Thomas, and wife of 40 years, Connie – along with other family members – for Raymond’s 36 years of public service.
