The packed house enjoyed remarks from some of the most notable members of the HCDO, including U.S. Rep. Albio Sires, Assembly Speaker Vincent Prieto, North Bergen Mayor/State Senator of the 32nd District Nick Sacco and County Executive Tom DeGise.

Various other speakers at the event included Assemblywomen Angelica Jimenez, also from District 32, Hudson County Sheriff Frank Schillari, North Hudson Community Action Corporation President Joan Quigley, Freeholder Al Cifelli (District 9), all three Harrison Council candidates and of course the man of the hour, Mayor James Fife.

“[Mayor] Raymond [McDonough] was always our great leader and I hope I can step into his shoes and fill ’em,” said Fife, who was appointed as mayor by the Harrison council in February shortly after McDonough’s sudden and unexpected passing.
