A Hawaii man wanted for sex crimes against a child was arrested at a West New York gym where he worked as a personal trainer, Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez announced.

On Friday, September 22, detectives from the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Fugitive Unit located and arrested Daniel M. Brito, 27, of West New York, who is wanted in Hawaii on three counts of sexual assault against a child, Suarez said in a statement.
Suarez also said detectives made the arrest after the Honolulu Police Department informed the HCPO Fugitive Unit that Brito could be in the area.
Detectives then began a brief investigation and Brito was located and arrested at 6209 Bergenline Avenue, Club Metro USA, where he worked as a personal trainer. He was arrested without incident, authorities said.
Brito is scheduled to have his first appearance and extradition hearing on Thursday,
September 28th in the Hudson County Administration Building. located at 595 Newark Avenue in Jersey City.
He is expected be held in the Hudson County Correctional Facility pending, extradition proceedings.
Suarez credited the cooperative effort of the Prosecutor’s Fugitive Unit, the West New
York Police Department and the Honolulu Police Department for Brito’s arrest.
