Hoboken Council President/mayoral hopeful Jen Giattino certainly wasn’t lacking confidence at a private fundraiser last night, exclaiming that “I know that we are on our way to the road to victory.”

Before Giattino addressed the crowd of about 50 supporters at the 10th & Willow Bar and Grill, Council colleagues Peter Cunningham and Tiffanie Fisher, both who have endorsed her, reiterated their confidence.
“Jen in her role as council president has shown the most amazing sense of leadership for our community, a lot of which you don’t necessarily see is her navigating a consensus on a lot of issues,” 2nd Ward Councilwoman Tiffanie Fisher said in front of a room of about 50 people at the 10th & Willow Bar & Grill.
“We actually end up voting as a council 9-0 or 7-2, high numbers, mostly because of the efforts of Jen. She does a lot of it behind the scenes … Jen’s role in leading the community, bringing people in our community together, like she’s brought our council together, to me is just the most important issue.”
During her remarks, Giattino praised her slate of Jason Ellis, Sal Starace and James Aibel before reminding everyone that election season has entered crunch time.
“42 days until the election. Really important that we have an army behind us. So I’m assuming you’re all here, and gave money, because you’re supporters, so if you could give time, that would be even better,” she said half jokingly.
“There’s a lot of people here that have done door knocking for me, we’ve had really great turnouts on the weekends. I know that we are on our way to the road to victory. We still have 42 more days. It seems like a long time, but it’s not, we’re gonna wake up tomorrow and it’s gonna be November 7th.”
The 6th Ward councilwoman also spoke about her passion for knocking on doors and getting to know residents, stating that she was confident she’d get every vote in Hoboken if she could knock on every door.
But since she can’t, she asked everyone in the room to get involved any way they can.
Once defined as a close ally of Mayor Dawn Zimmer, Giattino still decided to run for mayor after the incumbent decided not to run again and endorsed Councilman-at-Large Ravi Bhalla.
Zimmer and Giattino have since sparred over the city’s current deal with Suez Water and don’t appear to be making amends any time soon.
Other officials in attendance included Hudson County Republican Chair Jose Arango and North Hudson Sewerage Authority Commissioner Kurt Gardiner.
Jen Giattino looks like the best Hoboken candidate for mayor. My wife and Hoboken friends agree, Jen Giattino is the best candidate. Her experience and vision for development and quality of life rings true.
Sounds like she’s been catching fire. Hope Hoboken makes the right choice November 7th. This was very interesting shown the respect she has across town.

Hey everybody, Zach Steinberg is Hoboken Horse who is not Jewish. Buddy why dont you use a different fake name next time? Pick your own religion not mine.
I got a question. Was the event private because of the big Republican Party guy who hosted and all the Republican donors?
No
The Madwoman is really making things worse for Bhalla and his sleazebag crew of Stan, Vijay and Rob… Bunch of hacks that would make a Russo blush.
Why the personal attack? You are not the boss of me and my family and can’t tell us how to vote.
When a mayoral candidate has the support of Hoboken’s biggest Donald Trump fan, that says all I need to know.
Seth, political fundraisers by nature are private. You have to purchase a ticket or donate to attend. From what I gather there were far more democrats at the event than republicans. Nothing wrong with bipartisanship.
Were you there EddyE? I heard it was packed with county Republicans which is what she is.
It was packed that’s true. But it was packed mostly with Democrats, the Hoboken Chair of the Hoboken Democratic Committee and another executive member of the Hoboken Democratic Committee. I forgot his name. The tall Reform Democrat who endorsed Jen.
Lost count of all the Democrats there backing Jen Giattino for mayor.
It’s more than a little pathetic to have Hoboken’s biggest Trump supporter try and inject his fake news into other political blogs and social media. Horsesh*t should be ashamed but since it worked for his Orange Idol, he probably think it won’t hurt for his pick for Mayor.
Stan wants Ravi to win so he can control Hoboken still from his iphone… Boy cant wait until the trial starts….
It’s a shame that what basically amounts to sour grapes and political ambition have created such a rift within Reform. It’s also interesting that much of what we are seeing covered is infighting within Reform while DeFusco and Romano are watching from the sidelines.
Agreed, Ravi shouldnt have cut a secret deal with Zimmer and the Murphy team… they should have worked WITH Jen… Now Ravi and Jen will bothe lose
Romano wins
Well look at that…
Peter”Mr. Yacht Club” Cunningham, Tiffany “Hasenpfeffer”Fischer, and Jen ” I never met a Realestate Commission I didn’t like” Giatinno are bragging about how they rubber stamped the Zimmer Agenda. That means they are proud of the mess on Washington Street, happy to give sweetheart PILOTS to preferred developers and supported the Mayor when she lied and said she would cut taxes by 25 percent. They must also be proud of the scores of variances traded by the Zimmer Administration in return for selling out the character of the city. Not one new parking space has been created in the Fifth Ward thanks to Cunningham’s ineffectiveness, the Second Ward looks like highrise city and the Sixth Ward has seen nothing but higher taxes. These three clowns have been nothing but puppets and its time to put them all out of City Hall before nobody can afford to live here anymore,
Don’t come looking for help after Ravi loses…. your legal defense fund will be dry….
How utterly stupid these attacks are by the plumb stupid or paid hacks. Fisher and Jen Giattino vot d against the Bijou development on the west side of Hoboken.
Tough to keep up with the DeFusco and Ravi attack dogs. They are rabid.
But Giattino voted FOR all of the others. Funny how I never mentioned a developers name or a specific project, but you decided to single out the one and only time that they actually grew a pair.
How is a likely 4th place finish, 3rd if she gets lucky, a win for Jen? Has there been a single poll showing her above 3rd with most at 4th?
Wasn’t it the polls that convinced Stack to not endorse jen?
