Jersey City Mayor Steven Fulop and former state Senate Majority Leader Bernie Kenny (D-33) were just a couple of notable Hudson Dems who came out to support Hoboken Mayor Dawn Zimmer’s five council candidates at a fundraiser last night.

Hosted inside Arthur’s Steaks on Washington Street, with appearances from the likes of Fulop, Kenny, City Council President Ravi Bhalla, Democratic District 33 Assembly nominee Annette Chaparro and Craig Guy – Hudson County Executive Tom DeGise’s Deputy Chief of Staff – Zimmer expressed her excitement about the “fantastic team†she is supporting.
Mike DeFusco, Dana Wefer, Tiffanie Fisher and Jen Giattino, running in the 1st, 4th, 2nd and 6th Wards, respectively, all addressed the room as well.
Ward 5 Councilman Peter Cunningham, who arrived late due to a committee meeting, also has the support of Zimmer in this election cycle.
After their remarks, Zimmer explained to Hudson County View why she choose to support this slate of candidates, further stating that she believes every race – aside from the uncontested 3rd Ward – will be equally tough.
The best candidates to vote for are the following:
1st Ward – Michael DeFusco
2nd Ward – Tiffanie Fisher
4th Ward – Dana Wefer
5th Ward – Councilman Peter Cunningham
6th Ward – Councilwoman Jennifer Giattino
In the 3rd ward write in John Jay Hoffman as your vote. He is the attorney general
Best method and only method used by Zimmer to appeal to the low-info voter – political endorsements and fundraising. To quote her she needs more $$$ to be “on top”.
