Vanek, 45, also a former partner at high-powered Lyndhurst law firm Scarinci Hollenback, received praise from her now-former boss, Donald Scarinci on the firm’s official website.

“Christine’s contributions to the communities she has served during her time at Scarinci Hollenback are immeasurable. She will be greatly missed by her colleagues and her clients. We wish her great success serving a broader community as a judge of the Superior Court,” said Scarinci, a managing partner of Scarinci Hollenback.

Coincidentally, Scarinci  Hollenback has served as counsel in the neighboring Hudson County municipality of West New York since December 18 and Scarinci himself has acted as the town attorney since March 19.

Vanek, who was previously ranked in the New Jersey Law Journal’s annual “40 under 40” list in 2008, was hired by Scarinci Hollenback in 2000 where she generally focused on public sector and civil litigation and was named a partner in the firm in July 2012.

The newly appointed judge could not immediately be reached by Hudson County View on Monday.
