Ramos, whose last run for office was a failed bid to unseat Mayor Dawn Zimmer in November 2013, will be hosting his campaign kickoff at his home on 107 Jefferson Street tomorrow night from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m.

Speaking with Hudson County View shortly after friend/political ally Carmelo Garcia announced his intentions to take over the 6th Ward Council seat in the Mile Square City earlier this month, Ramos said he wasn’t bothered by the fact that he enters another three-way dance on November 3.

When running in 2013, he squared off against Zimmer and Occhipinti.

This time around, Ramos faces some degree of deja veu, as he one again battles Occhipinti, but instead of Zimmer, faces an ally of the mayor in the form of Dana Wefer: the charwoman of the city’s housing authority who just gave birth to a baby girl right before campaign season shifts into high gear.

In the same interview, Ramos, a lifelong Hoboken resident, spoke of the need to renovate the “dilapidated conditions” of the housing authority buildings.

Also worth noting is that Ramos previously served as a councilman-at-large under Mayor David Roberts between July 2001 and July 2009.

Tickets for tomorrow evening’s soiree cost $100 a piece.
