Arthur Gottheim, of Dobbs Ferry, New York, gave $4,000; Bayonne resident Joseph Gebhardt contributed $2,900; Donna Atwater, a municipal employee, donated $2,325; while IBM accountant and auditor Sharon Booker got involved at $2,000.
Whole Spectrum Care CEO Sherry Singh donated $3,000, Paramus school guidance counselor Rebecca Richardson wrote a check for $1,600, Garden Greenz employee Frank Robinson gave $1,500, and Jersey City Police Sgt. Anthony Lewis contributed $1,050.
On the expenditure side, Oscar James, who was an advisor to former Newark Mayors Sharpe James and Cory Booker and pleaded to tax evasion in 2017, was paid $10,000, for political consulting.
Additionally, Capa Property Management was paid $1,200 a month for office rent, cable, utilities, and internet.
Watterman is in last place in terms of fundraising for the non-partisan November 4th municipal contest and this is the second time since last year that she spent more than she raised.
She said via a letter to the editor early this year that she is running a grassroots campaign that does not revolve around fundraising.
Former Gov. Jim McGreevey has raised the most campaign cash, followed by Ward E Councilman James Solomon, Hudson County Commissioner Bill O’Dea (D-2), and former Board of Education President Mussab Ali.
The other declared candidate in the race, Police Officer Christina Freeman, has said she will not be opening up an ELEC account for the race.
