State Assemblywoman-elect Katie Brennan (D-32) is backing Tom Zuppa in the non-partisan December 2nd runoff election where he looks to unseat Ward C Councilman Rich Boggiano.

“I’m proud to endorse Tom Zuppa for Jersey City Council in Ward C. I’ve known Tom for years. We worked closely together through the Journal Square Community Association to fight for more affordable housing in our neighborhood, including in all the new high rises going up,” Brennan said in a statement.
“Tom understands that the cost of housing is way too high in Jersey City, and he knows that the city could be doing a lot more to keep rents down. If you live in Jersey City, make sure to vote in the runoff election on December 2nd!”
Brennan received Zuppa’s endorsement for Assembly one week before the June 10th primary that featured six candidates, as HCV first reported, while Brennan didn’t endorse in Ward C prior to last Tuesday’s election.
Now, she’s going with Zuppa, a former assistant Hudson County prosecutor who ran on Hudson County Commissioner Bill O’Dea’s (D-2) ticket who seems to have already formed a new alliance with Ward E Councilman James Solomon, the top vote getter for mayor.
She endorsed Joel Brooks in Ward B and Jake Ephros in Ward D – both who are members of the Democratic Socialists of America – in August. Her district mostly consists of Wards C, D, and E, but also includes some sections of Ward B.
Boggiano is seeking a rarely seen fourth term on the Jersey City Council as part of former Gov. Jim McGreevey’s ticket and bested Zuppa by just 51 votes last week.
The challenger appears to be using this week to show up support in Journal Square, securing the backing of Hudson County Commissioner Yraida Aponte-Lipski yesterday.

The Politburo always feeds itself, talks nonsense and offers scraps to the proles.
Brennan now is shoulder to shoulder with Ravi running this self-enrichment scam. It’s their policies that have made NJ the most taxed, least affordable in the country. That’s not changing.
