The 58-year-old woman Bayonne woman, whose name is being withheld since no charges or summonses have been issued, crashed through the storefront of the Sleepy’s, located at 203 Bayonne Crossing Way, at 3:27 p.m. on Sunday, according to the police report.

The woman told authorities she was parking her car in front of the store “when the next thing she remembers is she was inside the store inside her vehicle,” the report says.

She also told police that she had “no recollection” of the time between parking her car and ending up inside the store.

The vehicle was towed to Harrington’s Auto Body, located at 121 John F. Kennedy Boulevard in Bayonne. Police Capt. Janine Foy said she had no further information of the incident outside of what was written in the police report.

After receiving an anonymous tip yesterday that the driver was related to Council President Sharon Nadrowski, Hudson County View reached out to the elected official this morning.

Nadrowski confirmed that the driver was her sister-in-law, but said she was not present at the scene of the accident and was not even in Bayonne when the accident occurred since she was on vacation.

She declined to speculate on what caused the accident, stating that her sister-in-law texted her to let her know she was in a car accident and no one was injured, but did not know any other details about what happened.
