“I am running in this election for the purpose of providing a voice of change from the status quo. Politics as we know it has failed us; previous politicians have failed us; the days of no accountability are over in Hudson County,” Munoz said in a statement.

Munoz, who is running in the 31st Legislative District, said he plans to fight for more state funding for our schools to decrease the local property tax burden, ensure the transportation trust fund is used to fix Hudson County infrastructure and committing to a constitutional amendment to fix the public employee pension system, among other things.

Hudson County View first reported last month that Munoz would be running with Jersey City Education operative Kristen Zadroga Hart against incumbents Nick Chiaravalloti and Angela McKnight.

“I want people to know ‘you have a choice.’ There is someone who has the integrity and the desire to go the distance against the Democratic incumbents and challenged the HCDO. I have invested in my life and intend to use it to help others,” added Munoz.

“I’m not an old outdated politician who is seeking to further my own self-interest. We need someone with the capability to stand up and fight for our rights, and our future.”

A Hoboken High School history teacher, Munoz is also calling for an increase to the needs of our public safety, attracting more business and development to the area; providing jobs and economic growth and increasing recreational facilities for our youth.
