Earlier today, Keyshaun Wiggins, 18, of Jersey City was arrested without incident by members of the U.S. Marshals Service Fugitive Task Force at a residence in Springfield, Massachusetts, Suarez said in a statement.

He is currently being held at the Springfield Community Corrections Center pending extradition proceedings. Wiggins was wanted in Hudson County for the murder of Adrian Rivera, 18, of Hoboken.

Suarez credited the U.S. Marshals Service for the arrest, as well as the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office Homicide Unit and the Hoboken Police Department for their roles in the homicide investigation.

On January 24, at approximately 3:15 p.m., Hoboken police were dispatched to 300 Marshall Dr. on a 911 call of possible gun shots in the area.

Upon arrival officers found the victim, Rivera, in an apartment at that location with an apparent gunshot wound to his torso, police said.

He was immediately transported to Jersey City Medical Center by ambulance and was pronounced dead at the hospital at approximately 3:50 p.m., officials said.

On Wednesday, January 25, Khalif Geiger, 20, and a 17-year-old juvenile, both from Jersey City, were arrested for the murder of Rivera by detectives from the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office Homicide Unit and the Hoboken Police Department.

All three suspects were charged with murder, two counts of felony murder, armed robbery, armed burglary, hindering apprehension and several firearm offenses.

At a public meeting at a Hoboken Housing Authority building on Monday, Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez revealed that Rivera’s murder was not a random act of violence, as his apartment had over three pounds of marijuana and $13,000 cash in it.

Furthermore, Hoboken Police Chief Kenneth Ferrante said that the three suspects involved in Rivera’s murder had been friends with him since grammar school.
